It's Wed, March 24th, 2010 at 7:20 AM. Big hugs and kisses for Daddy, and off we go, all packed up in the Prius, with a little room to spare for treasures we pick up along the way. After settling in on the road, J and M need to be reminded that there won't be any movies until the dreaded W. Texas stretch, so we decide to count the bells on 101 and talk about what they represent (their education must continue on the road, of course!). Interstate 5 isn't too thrilling, but a good book on the iPod made it more interesting. Once we hit the desert, J and M were impressed with all the windmills up and running for wind power.

First stop, Desert Hot Springs. Since our first day out was going to have 7 hours of driving, I promised Juju and Maya this would be our first stop

so things could start out on a very good note. Ah, a big swimming pool, 6 different hot tubs, bubble pools and lemonade. They splashed and soaked for hours until it was time to go to bed. Maya asked about moving in for a bit - weren't there people who did that?.
