Day Two - 3/25 - Saguaro National Park, AZ

Maya insisted that I wake them up at 6:30AM so that she and Juju could get some good tub time in before leaving for AZ. Hard core. Rising early two days in a row is unheard of for me, but she was so excited about the prospect that I agreed to do it, thinking they would both just roll over back to sleep when the alarm went off. Not so - they were up and out the door and into the tubs, getting primed for about 6 hours of car time.

We arrived at Saguaro National Park West late afternoon and checked out the visitors' center. One especially friendly ranger pointed out a water hole/infrared camera set up and then showed us photos of some of the animals who came to visit. Maya and Juju were especially taken with the bobcat family and the javelina.

Time to stretch out and go for a hike to see what we can see... My favorite cactus, the ocotillo
and, thanks to the rain this year, a beautiful ocotillo flower.

More lovely desert flowers on the trail...
